Sunday 11 November 2012

So, something exciting is happening here at Janey HQ. I am preparing to launch a collection of vintage garments that will soon be available to buy online...eeeek I can't wait until its all up and running. I have been playing with photo shoots today figuring how best to display garments. A few idea I have come up with...

I will obviously keep images in full colour so that the colours of the garments can be viewed, but I just can't stop myself from playing with sepia :)

...................................................

In other news Janey had a stall in Harrogate theatre yesterday, a quick snap of the goodies that were available, some of which were snapped up...

Never fear if you missed out as I have more stalls booked in the run up to Christmas :)

Sunday 4 November 2012

 Hi all,

So Janey has been a busy bee these last few weeks!

I have just about got settled in to my new amazing flat, with the most fabulously huge shabby chic bedroom, complete with white washed furniture, French toile throws, vintage luggage cases, granny crochet blankets, stacks of floral hat boxes... I could go on and on.

I had a stall at the corn ex last weekend (Saturday just gone) which was, as always, lots of hard work, but fun fun fun.

I also have a stall this coming Saturday with Harrogate does Vintage, in Harrogate theatre. I am going to be launching a collection of vintage jewellery that I have been collecting over the last few weeks, so I'm excited about that, as well as the usual collection of beautiful vintage garments and accessories.

 Just a taster .....

I have also been working on photo shoots and editing images to use for a lookbook, flyers and poster, which I can hand out at the stalls. I still haven't picked the final ones yet, and would like to do a few more, but I am pleased with what I have so far...

I'm still trying to decide if I like them in colour or in sepia, obviously sepia doesn't catch the vibrancy of the clothes that well, but it does give the image a super duper vintage feel!

I'm going to get back to messing on photoshop to make up some more, eeek always so much to do!

Friday 17 August 2012

Sorry for the silence the last few weeks, I have been very busy moving house :) I now have the best new flat ever and am getting back on with sourcing wonderful vintage! Kicking off this weekend with Harrogate does Vintage, in the theatre, 10.30 till 4.30.

I've never done a stall in Harrogate before so fingers crossed its a good one.

Thursday 24 May 2012

A few pictures from last nights test shoot, after some editing - playing around with filters and lighting.

Next I actually need to think about the styling, since this was just thrown together in a mad rush (like most of my life these days). Hopefully I can find a whole day next week to get a few looks put together and some good snaps taken :) oh and I will announce some stall dates, just getting everything wrapped up.

Wednesday 23 May 2012

After this amazing few days of perfect sunshine I am feeling the urge to do a new photo shoot, especially since I need to start thinking about ways of shooting for a potential asos marketplace boutique. I spent my lunch break wandering around a secluded country graveyard bathed in a sea of dandelion seeds, thinking I must do an outdoors shoot whilst I still can.

I started browsing through lookbook for inspiration and pulled these few.

And of course, I always draw inspiration from the legend that is Tim Walker. The number of times I borrowed Pictures from the library when I was a student was way into double figures. There really are no words that can capture the magic of his work, an image says it all.

This evening I'm going to venture out to find a field of flowers and mess around with a few test shots, so in the next few days I'll put those up, I have quite a few future stall dates to announce also.....

Sunday 20 May 2012

So Janey had another stall yesterday with the affordable vintage fair in the corn ex. I took a few snaps on my phone when it was quiet.

I have 2 more stalls booked for June, so I'm looking forward to those and am getting ready to start buying new stock :) always lots of fun.
I've also been thinking about creating an asos marketplace boutique, I need to get out in to the (none existent) sunshine to take some photo's of clothes in natural light. I think I might list a few and see how they go, and if that's a success look into setting up an online boutique. How exciting :)
